Chakra Basics

Chakras are focal points in the subtle body originating in a variety of ancient practices including Hinduism and Buddhism, as well as being adapted into various New Age belief systems.


The function of the Chakras is to spin and draw in Prana, or life energy, which keeps the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health of the body in balance. These energy centers expand and contract, opening during positive experiences and closing for protection during times of stress.


There are many methods to help balance and align your Chakras, including the laying on or carrying of crystals, the use of Essential Oils in Aromatherapy, meditation, a healthy diet, mudras, bandhas, visualizations, and breathing exercises.
